Jeffrey Carter was named Marist’s Coordinator of Sports Medicine in July, 2013.
Prior to Marist, Carter served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Vassar College for 11 years, working with Brewers’ 27 Division III sports.
Before Vassar, Carter served as the head athletic trainer and director of wellness and fitness at Bard College for two years where he was responsible for coverage of all Division III varsity sports, as well as, the daily management of the athletic training program. In addition to his sports medicine duties, Carter was the campus-wide director of wellness and the director of the fitness center.
A 1997 graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland, Carter graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education, a minor in athletic training and a concentration in coaching. He received his Master of Science degree in education with an athletic training emphasis from Old Dominion University in May of 2000.
A native of Warsaw, N.Y., Carter is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainer's Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association. He is also a certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, an American Red Cross instructor and an approved clinical instructor (ACI) for athletic training students. In addition, Carter is the head athletic trainer for the Lake Placid Soccer Centre during the summer months. He currently resides in Poughkeepsie.
