Men's and Women's Soccer Both Earn Academic Awards From Coaches Association.
Two former Marist men's soccer players, Matty Berman and Matel Anasta have been invited to take part in the 2017 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Player Showcase which will take place January 7th-9th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
The postseason awards keep rolling in for men's soccer forward Cameron Harr who was named to the Hero Sports News All-America Team on Friday. The award is the sixth for Harr who was also named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Eastern College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, National Soccer Coaches Association of America 1st Team All-Northeast Region, 1st Team All-MAAC and 1st Team All-ECAC.
Following a season in which the team saw its third highest win total in program history and most wins in a single season since 2004 with 11 victories in 2016, the men's soccer team continues to get regional and national recognition with program records, postseason awards and players ranked amongst the best in the country in their careers.

Cameron Harr has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Year the conference announced on Tuesday.
Sophomore Cameron Harr was named the 2016 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the MAAC with 17 goals and 35 points this season. He ranked second in the nation in goals and was tied for second in assists. Harr was second in the country led the MAAC with 0.89 goals per game and was 5th in the country and led the MAAC with 1.84 points per game. His four game-winning goals were tied for the league lead.
2016 was a season of broken career records and national rankings for the Marist men's soccer team. With an 11-7-1 overall record, the Red Foxes tied the program's third highest win total with 11 victories, the most in program history since 2004, and the second highest in Division I history (since 1981).
Michael Lorello of the Marist men's soccer team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week the conference announced on Monday. This is the second Rookie of the Week award of the season for Lorello who was also given the honor on Sept. 12th.
The Marist men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Canisius Golden Griffins in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference quarterfinals at Tenney Stadium on Saturday evening. With the loss, Marist ends its regular season with an 11-7-1 (6-4 MAAC) record.
The Marist men's soccer team looks to make a run in the 2016 MAAC Championships as they get set to host the Canisius Griffs in the first round on Saturday, November 5th at 7 p.m. in Tenney Stadium. Marist earned an 11-6-1 overall record and a 6-4 conference record this season, good enough for the #4 seed in the MAAC Championships. They will face a Canisius team that finished the regular season with an 8-7-3 overall record and a 4-3-3 conference record, and enters the tournament as the #5 seed.
With a 2-1 comeback win over the Siena Saints in the regular season finale Wednesday afternoon, the Marist men's soccer team clinches the #4 seed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The Red Foxes will host the #5 seed Canisius Golden Griffins in a quarterfinal match up on Saturday at Tenney Stadium at 7 p.m.
