OCEANSIDE, New York- The Marist men's tennis team will continue on against Hofstra on Saturday February 4th. First set begins at 6:00 p.m.
LAST INVITATIONAL RECAP
The Red Foxes picked up a win against Sacred Heart University but fell to Army West Point in the Army invitational. Against Sacred Heart, the Red Foxes won from the top spots in doubles, which in turn set the tone for singles play. Justin Chanthalangsy and Javier Restrepo won at the first doubles position, 7-6. Dylan Fletcher and Rudolf Kurz won 6-3.
Against Army West Point, the Red Foxes picked up two singles wins but were unable to come back over a strong Army team they had beaten last season.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
Hofstra is coming off a three day invitational in Philadelphia in which on the final day they defeated Cornell 8-5 in doubles matchup. The Pride are currently 1-2 overall this season with losses against Fairfield and Wagner.
In singles matchups, sophomore Jan Leithner leads the team in victories with six and is 3-0 in dual matchups as well. In doubles play, the combo of sophomore Corentin Haener and junior Niko Vulinovich lead the team in overall wins with seven and are 5-2 on the season
