STATEN ISLAND, New York -- The Marist men's and women's indoor track teams will compete in their final meet of 2016 at the Wagner College Shootout on Friday, Dec. 9th at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex. 

The Red Foxes are coming off the season opening meet on Friday, Dec. 2nd at the Metro Invitational. On the women's side, senior captain Ashley Haynes had a career meet as she broke the school's 60 yard dash record not once but twice with the first coming in trials at 7.93 seconds and the second coming in the event finals at 7.92 seconds. Also at the meet, senior Lauren Adams notched personal best times in the 60- and 200-meter dash and classmate Olivia Jaquith capped her collegiate career with a personal best time of 1:21.20 in the 500-meter dash. In the 3,000-meter run, fifth-year seniors Nicki Nesi and Annie Gouldplaced third and fourth, respectively.

On the men's side, freshman Zachary Ropes began his collegiate career with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run (1:57.60). He was one of five Red Foxes to place in the top 10 in the event, as sophomore Brian Henderson ended up in third with a time of 1:59.03.  

Senior captain Tim Johnson was fourth in the 200-meter dash after he sprinted to a time of 22.64 seconds, just 0.03 seconds off his own school record. In the 3,000-meter run, freshmen Dan Hillman (9:08.73) and Connor Levins (9:28.56) began their Marist careers with sixth and ninth place finishes, respectively.

Up next, Marist will have over a month off before returning to competition at the Yale Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14th in New Haven, CT.
