POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA for the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct 1st at 9:30 AM.
Both teams were in action last Saturday at the Ted Owen Invitational where the Red Fox women set two program records and finished second overall. Marist set records for the number of runners who finished under 20 minutes (20) as well as the number of runners who finished under 19 minutes (7). Marist also had the fastest top five averages at the meet in school history.
Mara Schiffhauer was the top finisher for the Red Foxes, placing fourth overall with a final time of 18:01.9 and Emily Burns was second with a fifth place finish and an overall time of 18:02.3. Ali Bartolotta in eighth place at 18:14.3, Shea Bohan in 18th place at 18:14.3 and Elizabeth Wasserman in 24th place with an overall time of 18:41.8 rounded out the top five for Marist.
For the men, Connor Levins was the top finisher for Marist, placing 37th with an overall time of 27:44.4 and Brian Edsall was second with a 40th overall finish in 28:00.4. Will Duggan placed 54th with a time of 28:31.7, Sam Ellougani placed 55th with a time of 28:36.8, and Jalyn Alvarez placed 63rd with a time of 28:58.1.
Up next the men's team will travel to Princeton, NJ for the Princeton Invitational while the women will travel to Albany, NY for the Albany Invitational on Saturday, Oct 15th. The women's team will start at 12:45 PM while the men's team will start at 1:30 PM.
