Schiffhauer Earns All-MAAC Selection; Women's Cross Country finishes 5th at MAAC's

PENNINGTON, New Jersey – The Marist women's cross country team ran to a fifth place finish out of 11 teams at the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships held at Rosedale Park.

Mara Schiffhauer earned All-MAAC team honors by virtue of a top 15 finish in the race. Schiffhauer ran 12th with a time of 21:58.09. The next six Red Foxes to place and have their times count towards the total team score were Nicki Nesi (22:15.66), Elizabeth Wasserman (22:25.35), Emily Burns (22:36.14), Janelle Solviletti (22:44.74), Christine Coughlin (22:53.68), and Marissa Porter (23:21.42).

The Quinnipiac Bobcats earned first place with 39 points, followed by Iona with 65, Monmouth with 85, Rider with 116, and then Marist with 122.

The Red Foxes will send runners to the NCAA Northeast regional and ECAC Championships later on in the month of November.

Afterwards the MAAC held their 2015 awards banquet and named the members of the All-Academic team. Marist led the way with 21 student-athlete's honored with All-Academic team recignition.
