LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Marist women's cross country team finished second at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday morning at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Three Red Foxes - sophomore Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.), freshman Kristen Traub (Wayne, N.J.) and senior Katie Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.) - earned All-MAAC honors with top-15 finishes.
Gaye was seventh overall with a time of 21:54.64 on the 6K course. Traub was ninth in 22:03.82, and Messina placed 12th in 22:23.17.
Completing the scoring positions for Marist were sophomore Erin Thompson (Washington Township, N.J.) and senior Rebecca Denise (East Patchogue, N.Y.), who placed 16th and 21st, respectively.
Marist had a team total of 65 points. Iona, which won the MAAC championship for the eighth straight year, tallied 26 points.
