PRINCETON, N.J. - The top nine runners of the Marist women's cross country team achieved personal bests in the Championship Race of Saturday's Princeton Invitational.
Sophomore Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.) paced the Red Foxes by finishing 15th overall in 22:05 on the 6.2K course. Also earning personal bests were senior Katie Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.), freshman Kristen Traub (Wayne, N.J.), sophomore Erin Thompson (Washington Township, N.J.), freshman Christine Coughlin (Latham, N.Y.), senior Rebecca Denise (East Patchogue, N.Y.), senior Erin O'Reilly (East Patchogue, N.Y.), freshman Nicki Nesi (Pelham, N.Y.) and senior Rachel Bremer (West Chester, Pa.). As a team, Marist placed eighth out of 25.
In the Open Race, Marist placed fourth out of nine teams. Junior Tara Nuccitelli (Suffern, N.Y.) finished 24th overall in 24:56.
Marist will return to action on Friday, when the Red Foxes run a partial squad at the CCSU Mini Meet. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships will then be held on Saturday, Oct. 27.
