STONY BROOK, N.Y. -
The Marist women's cross country team ran in the Stony Brook "Wolfie"
Invitational on Saturday. The Red Foxes competed against
Providence, ranked #7 nationally and #1 in the Northeast, and Stony Brook,
ranked #10 in the Northeast.
Sophomore
Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes on the 5,050-meter course
with a seventh-place finish in 18:41.85. A total of three Marist runners place
in the top 15, as Gaye was joined by freshman
Kristen Traub (Wayne, N.J.) in ninth and senior
Katie Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.) in 11
th.
The Red Foxes will return to action next
Saturday at the Ted Owen Invitational, which will be hosted by Central
Connecticut State in New Britain, Conn.
